Panghimagas (Dessert)

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 | Advertising & Editorials

Some time middle of the year, I received this assignment from Yummy to shoot dessert food at Café Ysabel. It wasn’t as easy as putting on the table mats and shoot it like you were in a studio. The challenge was to make these Filipino Desserts look native and tropical.

There was no better way than to just shoot it around the lush greens that the restaurant has in its facade. Of course, it wouldn’t be as good as it is without the magic touch of stylist, Sharlene Tan.

Best experience I had was when I tried out the Bibingka prepared by Chef Gene Gonzales. I should say, this has been the best Bibingka I have ever tried! Way better than Ferinos!
